My mom had a dream, she wanted a better life–free from the degradation, its root–racism. By faith she packed up what she could carry and migrated from the southern region of the US to the North. Like most of her contemporaries, they also moved up north; they purchased homes and raised their children in middle-class neighborhoods. They understood the importance of prayer and family. Their dream was alive.
By faith they made a little a lot. We are the better and have more because they paved the way for us to stand on their shoulders. Now we must dream big! We must encourage our children to dream big. We must not forget that prayer is the key and will propel us forward.
