It’s Not A Curtain Call

curtain-callBased on a true story –

I hadn’t heard from my son Nick in a few days, so I called and asked my son Jarius  to check his bedroom. Nick was gone, no life, no warning.  He had been dead for a couple days. The cares of this world had overwhelmed him that he lost hope. When he heard the enemy’s voice, he submitted and ended his life.

What does a mom say to this. How does a mom respond to the questions, “When, why, and how”? I know God, while my boys were young I went to church a couple of times. Later, I made a conscience decision and gave my life to the Lord. Yes, I and was faithful in the ministry.  We all went to church and when they become of age, they made their own decision. Now that he is gone, I reflect and I am lost for words. Last night I dreamed about Nick. He was in distress. “Mom I don’t like this place, I want to come back. Help me, please get me out of here mom,” he begged with tears streaming down his cheeks.

I am grieved in my spirit–in the dream I wanted to help, but know I couldn’t do anything to bring him back. My heart hurts. Did I miss the mark and where did I go wrong?

This story reflects what has become the norm in our western culture. Children are dying before their parents. Suicide is high and prayer must be our meat and bread day and night.  Does the dream denote a young man who went to eternal damnation and wanted to come back?  If so,  what he didn’t realized, is there is no return. When we leave this earthly place, we cannot come back to do it right–there is no second chance in death, burial and the grave. It is not a curtain call, we must do it right the first time. Although the bible doesn’t delineate suicide as unforgivable, we know according to the word of God it is sin to take your own life. Sin prevents us from making heaven. No one knows the time of death and what occurs when the spirit leaves the body–if man has time to repent. Therefore, we are to always be ready. The New Testament Luke 16:20-31 says,

”There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously everyday; And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at this gate, full of sores, which fell from the rich man’s tale: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abrahams bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;  And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, the he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receiveth thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things, but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he, I pray thee therefore, father,  that thou wouldest sen him to to my father’s house : For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham said unto him, They have Moses and the prophets: let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses  and the prophet, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”

Prayer for our children is a must, raising them up in the way they should go is essential to withstand the onslaughts and plots of the enemy. If they don’t have God then they don’t have anything to hold on too–without God, man is the Devil’s puppeteer. He has no defense and he is powerless to the enemy.

Empirically speaking, the stentorian voice of the enemy is loud an clear. He does provoke suicide tendencies and he doesn’t stop until he deed is done. His gateway is distress, rejection and depression. Nick had just found out that his girlfriend had Aids and was leaving him, he lost hope and allowed the enemy to counsel him. Psalms 1 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly.”  In Christ, we have power to overcome and the joy of the Lord becomes our strength, regardless of what it looks and feels like.

TRUTH – The state we leave this place is the state we are in when we take our last breath. Therefore, we must live a life of righteousness, which we examine ourselves everyday. We must repent and ask God to cleanse us daily. This life is only a journey to eternal life.

PRAYER –  Let’s pray for our children, binding the spirit of suicide and self abuse.

Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ–seed of Jessie, this prayer is to eradicate  mass weapons of the Devil. This day–we take authority using the name of Jesus Christ, who has all power on earth and heaven to dismantle weapon. We veto every plot and insidious plan for our children. We pull down strongholds and we bind the strongman. We destroy every diabolical ordnance against our children. This day, we pray against and above principalities, wickedness in high places and rulers of darkness. Therefore, no weapon that is formed against our children and family shall be able to prosper. We shut the enemy’s mouth–we silence his voice and sever his life line as David did with Goliath.  We destroy all communication that is set to destroy our children and family. Lord cause an interference in cyberspace (Social media iPad, smart phone, email and the alike) that no illegal communication can influence and hijack the thoughts of our children. Heavenly Father send your anointing to cover our children and keep them from danger–seen and unseen. We bind with all power from our Lord Jesus Christ sex trafficking activities, cause this empire to be dissolved. Not by our power or might, but by the spirit of the Lord, we pulverize operation and its connections.

Lord, cause our children to call on the name of Jesus Christ in every circumstance, crisis, and decision. Draw them to you that they love You dearly and know You as their Lord. This day, we pray for parents and guardians to raise their children in the way they should go as the bible has instructed. Heavenly Father, You are our council, our compass and guide. Let Your spirit hover over our homes to keep peace and sickness away. This day, we anoint our homes in the spirit realm to keep the enemy out. When Moses anointed the doorpost, the death angel had to pass over it. This day, we anoint our homes with the blood of Jesus Christ. We declare that the Lord will satisfy our families with long life. Psalms 91 shall be our portion. We seal this prayer in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth–Amen!
